This paper sets out a new unified semi-empirical crack-width model for load-induced cracking. The no-slip part is treated mechanically: Poisson coupling around the bar produces axial–lateral equilibrium that restrains radial contraction. The familiar bond–slip term is kept, so both contributions sit in one formulation.
The aim is a more consistent and reliable prediction of crack width for concrete liquid-retaining structures — without abandoning the classical bond–slip approach.
